Exploring the Mignone Halls of Gems and Minerals
A Guided Tour in the American Museum of Natural History
In our eyes, the dinosaurs and blue whale had nothing on the glittering Gem Hall at @amnh. Last week, a curious group of Gem X’ers arrived after hours to see the treasures that lay inside. Our night was lit by gigantic amethyst geodes (yes, there are a pair), fluorescing diamonds, swirly malachites, and a giant touch-and-learn screen where we could make our own minerals. Just putting this out there, but if anyone finds a new specimen, GemX-orite has a nice ring to it.
