OCTOBER 2019

Jewelry for America Tour at The Met

Hosted by Beth Carver Wees

Gem X went on a private curatorial tour of the Jewelry for America exhibition at the Met, with Beth Carver Wees, Ruth Bigelow Wriston Curator of American Decorative Art. Beth shared her insights on her curation process and pointed out memorable details in all the pieces. For example, the carved owl eyes on the Native American turquoise beads, snake motifs in a pair of Cartier diamond lorgnettes, and a mourning ring in the shape of a coffin.  It was a trip down history & jewelry lane.
